What can be better than this combination of warm freshly made pimiento cheese and crab meat? These two ingredients make an irresistible spread, delish to use with your favorite vegetables, on crackers or on bread. Great for football game parties or holidays!
8 ounces of cream cheese, softened
6 ounces of extra sharp yellow cheddar cheese, shredded
½ cup plus 2 tablespoons of mayonnaise
8 ounces of crab meat
¼ cup of chopped pimiento
¼ cup of sliced green onion
1 tablespoon of fresh lemon juice
½ teaspoon of salt
1 teaspoon of hot sauce, or to taste
1 ½ cups of torn rustic bread (crust removed)
Cucumber spears, celery stick, endive leaves, for serving
Preheat oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit.
Mix cream cheese until very soft, add sharp cheddar and ½ cup of mayonnaise and mix again until well combined.
Stir in crab meat, green onion, pimiento, salt and hot sauce.
Place the mixture into a 3 ½ cup baking dish, and set aside.
Stir together bread and remaining 2 tablespoons of mayonnaise. Spread it evenly on the top of the crab and cheese mixture.
Place the dish on a baking sheet and bake for 25 minutes until golden brown and bubbly.
Serve warm with prepared vegetables.
