Smell of Rosemary - Tomato Basil Mozzarella and Avocado Salad - Top

Whether it is a lunch or a small supper, this salad is my favorite.  It is colorful, healthy and most delish! In this Italian classic with a twist, I like to use as many fresh, locally grown organic ingredients as I can find at the farmers market or in a grocery store. This salad is easy to made and fast to assemble, and most importantly, requires no cooking whatsoever.

Ingredients

  • 1 head of lettuce, torn into bite-sized pieces
  • 2 large tomatoes, sliced
  • 2 ripe but firm avocados, peeled and sliced
  • 8 ounces of fresh mozzarella, sliced
  • 1 lemon
  • 3 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper

In this dish, I use a head of organic lettuce, torn into small pieces and placed on a large serving platter.  Two ripe heirloom tomatoes are sliced and overlap with slices of avocado, fresh mozzarella and basil leaves (which grows in abundance in my backyard garden).

The whole dish is simply seasoned with lemon juice, salt and pepper and a splash of extra virgin olive oil.

This wonderful salad, based on classic Italian ingredients of fresh mozzarella, tomato, and basil, takes about 15 minutes to make, perfect for a night where time is limited and expectations are for a flavorful, refreshing meal.  Bon Appétit!

For my friends and family back in Poland, I present the Polish translation of  Tomato Basil Mozzarella and Avocado Salad.

Sałata z Pomidorów, Świeżej Mozzareli, i Avocado

Składniki

  • 1 glówka zielonej sałaty, porwanej na kawałki
  • 2 dojrzale pomidory, pokrojone w plastry
  • 2 avocado, obrane ze skóry i pokrojone w plastry
  • 20 dkg świeżej mozzarelli
  •  świeża bazylia
  • 1 cytryna
  • 3 stołowe łyzki oliwy z olivek,(45 ml)
  • Sól i świeżo zmielony pieprz do smaku

Jest to bardzo prosta w przygotowaniu, i pyszna salatka, ktora nie wymaga dużo pracy. Potrawa ta bazuje na klasycznej potrawie włoskiej, która składa się z pomidorów, świeżej mozzarelli i liści bazyli. Sałatkę można podawać jako samodzielne danie, albo jako dodatek do innych potraw.

Pokrojoną zieloną sałatę należy położyć na półmisek, poczym poprzekładać plastry pomidorow, z plastrami mozzarelli, avocado i liśćmi swieżej bazyli. Skropić danie sokiem z świeżo wyciśniętej cytryny, olejem z olivek i doprawić do samku solą i pieprzem. Przygotowanie sałatki zabiera około 15 minut i jest gotowa do podania na stół.
